♠文法的な説明をしますと、①の「south」は名詞扱いで冠詞の「the」が必要。
②は、「south」を副詞の南にとして使用しているので、冠詞はいらない。
③は、「southern」と形容詞で使用しています。ちなみに「Japan」は冠詞は不要です。
このように、「east」「west」・・などは、名刺。副詞、形容詞になり前に前置詞が付いたり、冠詞が必要だったりと意外に複雑です。
