賄賂

The politician was arrested for receiving money under the table.
---その政治家は、賄賂を受け取りで逮捕された。
He offered a \5000000 bribe to do it.
---彼は500万円の賄賂をそれをすることに要求した。 He was bribed into handing over secret information.
---彼は極秘資料を渡すことで賄賂を受けた。
♠ receiving money under the table, bribe で賄賂になります。
bribe は動詞にもなり bribe sb into ~で、「~で賄賂を誰かに渡す」となります。

わざわざ

You came here toting all the way to eat soba from Tokyo.
---きみはそばを食べるためにわざわざ東京からここ栃木まで来たの。
I made this cake, especially for you.
---君のためにわざわざこのケーキを作ったんだよ。
I can't be bothered to do it.
---わざわざそんな事したくないよ。
You have to say thank you when someone goes out of his or her way to help you.
---誰かがわざわざあなたを助けてくれた時には必ずお礼をいいなさい。

渡す

Would you hand over this to her?
---彼女にこれを手渡して頂けませんか?
♠ 普段よく使用しなければならないのですが、以外と言えない方が多いのがこの表現です。
子供を英会話学校につれて行くときになに何かを誰かに手渡してほしいのですが、ネイティブにそのことが言えずにもじもじしている方を何人も見たことがあります。
もちろん give でも良いのですが、手渡すニュアンスにはこれが一番です。
Before you hand in your report, you should check it carefully.
---レポートを提出する前に、よく見直しなさい。
♠ 書類などを提出するには、hand in ~がピッタリです。
She slipped a note to him.
---彼女は彼にそっとメモを渡した。
♠ そっと渡すは、slip を使用します。slip には良く知れれている「すべる」以外に「そっと」「知らぬ間に」などの意味があります。
He made over all his property to his wife.
---彼は全財産を妻に渡した。
♠ 財産・権利などを渡すときには、make over がいいです。

---お名前を住所をお願いします。
♠ 一般的にお金から仕事の世話まで何でも渡せるのが、give ですが、hand slip makeover などを使用しますと言葉に厚みが出てきます。

♠ lay a plank across~は、~に板を渡す決まり文句です。一般的な板は、plank ドブは、ditch 日常使う単語ですので良く覚えましょう。
